Both faced Putin’s pick for their respective opponent, Viktor Yanukovych in Ukraine in 2010, and Donald J Trump in the U.S. in 2016.  

Both Yanukovych and Trump shared the same campaign manager, Paul Manafort, whom Viktor’s campaign paid $66 million. Trump got Manafort free of charge, thanks to a debt Manafort owed Deripaska, Putin’s Oligarch.

Remember the private party Trump gave the Russians in the Oval Office following his installation in the White House, leaving our press outside?

There was nothing subtle about Trump’s debt to Putin for his win.

And President Trump’s words at Helsinki?

He actually said he believed Putin, not the CIA!

Of course, if he said the opposite, he would have to resign from the Presidency
Because he would have admitted collusion with a foreign power in the election.
